Seifert Technologies • January 27, 2021

Ed Barth is now a certified Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt.  This certification is just another example of how Seifert Technologies is committed to expanding and improving our services and capabilities.

"With Lean focusing on efficiency and Six Sigma focusing on quality, I knew this would benefit many of the manufacturing industries we serve." - Ed Barth, Vice President of Engineering

Lean Six Sigma (LSS) is a business management technique designed to systematically increase business productivity by identifying and eliminating waste. The Lean and LSS tools and techniques drive process improvement and achieve measurable, bottom-line results. Implementing LSS helps businesses build a strong organization focused on quality and process improvement.

Some ways that LSS can help improve your manufacturing processes include:

  • Value Stream and Process Maps
  • C&E Matrix
  • Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA)
  • Waste Identification
  • Methods to Reduce Waste
  • Statistics and Graphical Analysis
  • DMAIC - Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control
  • DPMO - Defects per million Opportunities
  • FiveS - sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain
  • MultiVari Charts
  • Control and Response Plans

Our plan is to pursue Lean Six Sigma Green and Black Belt certifications in the future.
