The Smart Manufacturing cluster focuses on building networks that will advance knowledge and drive adoption of IIoT, identify product innovation gaps as identified by major market segment leaders, and develops programs that create the specialized intellectual capital that enables IIoT implementation and innovation.

Zachary Glass and David Gongwer from Seifert Technologies attended the event on March 7th. The event was targeted atManufacturers looking to implement IIoT into their operations and companies who provide IIoT solutions. Academic and research institutions that have applicable curriculum. Manufacturing professionals including but not limited to: CTOs, CIOs, Engineers in IT, Operations, and Product Development, R&D, Data Scientists.

The keynote speaker was John Dyck from CESMII, Clean Energy Smart Manufacturing Innovation Institute in Los Angeles, CA. www.cesmii.org

There were breakout sessions about IIoT implementation for large and small manufacturers and about product innovation. We learned how to determine if IIoT is valuable for their organization, how to move forward after identifying needs or proof of concept, instrumenting legacy equipment, realizing value in existing data and finding the right KPIs for your business.
